Post before long weekend

Well, as too many of you read the blog at work, I'm trying to get a post up before you all leave work for the long weekend!

We've had a good couple days despite feeling a little under the weather. Q has been exceptionally cuddly and needy the last few days...hence fewer photos and blog entries! I forget that she's still young even though she's in 12-18 month clothes (mostly), is eating every type of food imaginable (with or without spices), teething (yes I mentioned a few blogs ago that she had her first tooth) and is growing up and has such a personality!

We had a good weekend. Q and Daddy played a little bit...she loves to fly!

She loves her glo-worm (can't forget him when we come home in a few weeks). This is actually the middle of her really excited cry and it makes it look like she's angry. I love it.

And I forget how close we are to some great bridges (Verazzano-Narrows Bridge here) and waterfront. This was the view just a few blocks away from our Music Together classes in Bay Ridge.

Not a great photo of the waterfront, but there wasn't a great shot to take as there were too many trees in the way to capture the awesomeness. In order to get the great water only shots, I would've had to cross the park & the freeway and walked about another 12 blocks to get the the bridge that allows me to do that.

Mike and I finally decided on a simple dress for her baptism in a few weeks. I was going to go "all out" and get a "fancier" dress, but I found something locally that should work just as well...and maybe she'll even wear it more than once!! And it was 1/3 of the price. So, all definitely bonuses!

Our next investment for her is a new car seat as she's nearing (if not past) 20# and her Graco/attach to stroller doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore. Suggestions??

I think our weekend plans include lots of time at Coney Island. They have a festival and fireworks tonight so we will go enjoy the ocean breeze as it's a nice 90 degrees today. Tomorrow is THE Nathan's hot dog eating contest in the afternoon then a festival in Bay Ridge (near the photos taken above), any maybe the Macy's fireworks (depending how Q takes them tonight). We may head back to Coney Saturday for the Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball game. Again, maybe Q will be better with the crowd and sudden noises...maybe not. We'll see. And, well, by Sunday we may be more than ready to sit at home and enjoy nothing! We'll see how many activities we actually get to as everything takes 8xs longer with a child! :-)

I LOVE the hot dog eating contest (as long as no one pukes)! I'll have to see if you guys are on TV! I think last year it was on an ESPN channel. That made me laugh.

Did you make it to the Hot Dog Contest. That was really some exciting television. Watched the whole thing including the "Dog-off."

That means it must take 32x longer to do things with 4 children!!! that it does.. first Benjamin needs a clean diaper.. then you pick up Alex, and smell something not so good..then he has to wipe himself,.. then Caryn decides she has to go to the bathroom before we leave.. and Liz.. well she's Liz.. After all that..it's been 30 minutes.. and Benjamin has to be changed again because he leaked through.. :)
